Whenever I go missing from here for a few days, it’s safe for you to assume I’m lost in a good book.

I have always been a bookworm, staying up late into the night to read, hiding with a flashlight under the covers if it was past my bedtime.

My Cabbage Patch doll really loved it when I fell asleep in the middle of a good book.

Perhaps that’s why my mornings have always been filled with, “Lauren. Lauren, get up. Lauren, get out of bed. Lauren, eat your breakfast. Lauren, eat. Lauren, you’re going to be late. Lauren, eat.” (Yes, Mom, I’m looking at you.)

When I get really sucked into a good book, productivity of any other kind plummets. Laundry needs to be done? I’ll do it later. Dinner? A PBJ is fine. Blogging? Yeah, uh huh, I’ll get back to that. The Hunger Games was cause for a week-long chores strike at my house. I’ll even admit that I bought the third book at Target, and then sat in the parking lot reading because I couldn’t bear to wait the 10 minutes until I would be home. Goose called wondering if I’d gone missing. Oops.

This week, it’s Think and Grow Rich.

I don’t need to be wealthy, but I do want a rich life, filled with chasing dreams and achieving them. This book is changing the way I think and has me all inspired to do big things. I find myself not wanting to put it down, and at the same time wanting to toss it aside and brainstorm like crazy.

And I love it.

What’s the last book you read that you couldn’t put down? What’s the last book you’ve read that made you really inspired?
